Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic expressed on Monday that Iraq holds significant potential as a hub for development and investment, particularly within the energy, oil, and gas industries.
Plenkovic shared these views during a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, where he underscored the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation across military, security, and economic domains, according to a statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
High-ranking Croatian officials, including Croatia’s Foreign Minister and the country’s ambassador to Iraq, were present at the discussions.
The conversation focused on enhancing collaboration between the two nations, with a clear aim of promoting prosperity and long-term economic development.
Specific attention was given to the oil and gas sectors as both parties explored ways to strengthen cooperation in fields such as economy, investment, and energy.
Hussein also reflected on the outcomes of his European diplomatic tour, stressing the importance of fortifying the two countries’ partnership in the global fight against terrorism.
Additionally, the discussions addressed coordinated positions on Israel’s ongoing conflict with Gaza and Lebanon.
Hussein emphasized that exerting increased pressure on Israel to halt its military operations is crucial to ending the ongoing hostilities in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as preventing the emergence of new conflicts in the region.
