Iran’s Economy Grows 1.4% in First Two Months of Iranian Year

Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.4% during the first two months of the current Iranian year, according to a report from the Parliament Research Center. The non-oil sector also showed growth, rising by 1.2% over the same period compared to last year.

Sector-wise, agriculture saw a decline of 3.5% in value added, while the crude oil and natural gas sector grew by 2.9%. The industries and mining sector contracted by 2.6%, whereas the services sector expanded by 3%.

In the third month of the Iranian calendar, monthly economic growth slowed to 0.1%, with non-oil growth slightly negative at -0.2%, indicating some short-term challenges despite the overall positive performance earlier in the year.
