Mobarakeh Steel Secures Strategic Role in Iran’s National Water Projects

Mobarakeh Steel is cementing its role as a key supplier for Iran’s massive water transfer initiatives from the Oman Sea and Persian Gulf to central and eastern provinces. The company has produced around one million tonnes of high-grade steel sheets—such as X65 and ST52—for pipelines spanning over 1,200 kilometers, ensuring water security for industries, aiding river restoration, reducing groundwater pressure, and supporting regional economic development.

By focusing on domestic infrastructure projects rather than volatile export markets, Mobarakeh Steel mitigates global steel demand downturns and currency transfer risks. Its investments in renewable energy, advanced production technologies, and low-carbon steel grades have bolstered profitability while cutting reliance on imports for specialized materials. The company also supports local pipe manufacturers, creating jobs and retaining value within Iran.

With drought expected to persist, steady demand from national water transfer projects offers Mobarakeh Steel stable revenue streams and long-term growth prospects. Coupled with strategic initiatives—such as building a 914 MW power plant and a 600 MW solar plant—the firm is enhancing both its resilience and its contribution to Iran’s sustainable industrial and infrastructure development.
